Safari 4 The Fastest Web Browser in the World

Apple on Tuesday released the public beta of Safari 4 and claimed that it is the world’s fastest and most innovative web browser for Mac and PCs. Well, whether Safari 4 is the most innovative web browser or not is up for debate, but the latest benchmark tests done by CNET show that it’s definitely world’s fastest web browser. CNET used the SunSpider suite of JavaScript tests to compare performance of IE 7 and 8, Firefox 3, Safari 4, Chrome and Opera 9.6. CNET says that on Windows XP system Safari was a whopping 42 times faster than Internet Explorer 7, just over six times faster than IE 8, 3.5 times faster than Firefox 3 and 1.2 times faster than Chrome.
On Mac also the results weren’t much different. Safari was four times faster than Firefox 3 and 7.5 times faster than Opera. On both PC and Mac, Minefield web browser was the closest competitor to Safari 4. In our 24 hours of use, Safari 4 hasn’t crashed even once and all the websites load perfectly. It is visibly faster than Firefox 3, Safari 3 and IE 7. The new features make the browser visually stunning and also more functional. The only new feature that we didn’t like is Tabs on Top, it definitely increases the web page real state, but we are habituated of having Tabs just above the web page.
